Where does Speech Community offer services?
We offer home visits in Elmira, Ontario and provide virtual speech therapy services province-wide across Ontario.
What is the process for starting Speech Therapy?
We begin with a free consultation to learn about your needs. From there, we schedule an assessment to determine specific goals. After that, we work together in weekly therapy sessions tailored to you or your child.
What happens during an assessment?
Assessments are personalized based on age and goals. They may include formal testing, play-based activities, interviews and observation. Afterward, we share results and develop a therapy plan together.
How long does Speech Therapy take?
The length of therapy varies depending on the individual’s goals and needs. Some clients attend for a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We regularly check in on progress and adjust goals as needed.
What is the fee?
Our standard rates are $135 for in-home sessions and $130 for virtual sessions. Sessions are typically 45 minutes long. A detailed receipt is provided after each session for insurance or reimbursement purposes.
What ages do you support?
We work with clients of all ages, from toddlers to seniors. Therapy plans are always adapted to the individual’s stage of life and communication goals.
Is Speech Therapy covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans offer coverage for speech therapy. We recommend checking your plan details. While we do not offer direct billing, we provide receipts with all the information required for maximum reimbursement.
Can I be involved in my child’s Speech Therapy?
Absolutely! Caregiver involvement is encouraged. We provide strategies, updates and activities to help carry over skills at home.
Do you work with schools or other professionals?
Yes! With your consent, we can collaborate with teachers, resource staff, doctors or other professionals involved in your or your child’s care.
